Ecojesuit is hosting a dialogue Laudato Si’ – Environment as Relationship at the sidelines of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change Conference (UNFCCC-COP 23 Fiji) which will be held in Bonn, Germany under the Presidency of Fiji from 6 to 17 November.
The Ecojesuit-hosted half-day event on 13 November will be held at Aloisiuskolleg, a Jesuit high school in Bonn, and is drawing interest from other Jesuit schools, the local church, development organizations such as Misereor and CIDSE, other German-based partners. Topics on Laudato Si’ in relation to food security and to resource exploitation will be discussed with an open forum and the activity is expected to engage a broad audience.
Ecojesuit Task Force members from the six Jesuit conferences are gathering and sharing during this event, and expected participants will include UNFCCC delegates and observer organizations. In the afternoon, a Laudato Si’ fair and exhibit is also organized to engage the youth and other interested audiences.
The Ecojesuit event draws support from Xavier Network, Jesuitenmission, Aloisuiskolleg, and the Social Justice and Ecology Secretariat and is endorsed by the jury consisting of the partners UNFCCC, the incoming Fijian Presidency of COP23, the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety and the City of Bonn.
